Submit Photos

Any of you guys and girls out there taking pictures that
would be interested in using this site to upload/store/edit your
works please contact me. I've got some features that I can develop
into the new gallery
area that will allow me to give you certain privileges, your own
personal portfolio area that gets heavy traffic. (e-mail
me for more info)
I'm in the process of completely revamping the Photo
Gallery area of this site. I've updated the scripting, the indexing, the
display and the overall cataloging within the sizable archives of this
site. If you have submitted photos in the past and they never seemed to
show up in the Portfolio area I'm sorry. It was a very tedious and time
consuming process to try to optimize, create thumbnails and then create
captions for submissions. (often times from borderline quality images :o}
This new gallery format will speed this process
up for your overworked, deprived-of-surf webmeister. I'm ready and
waiting for some new submissions, we've had a decent Hurricane
season so I know there are some hot images out there. Please don't try to
send me HUGE e-mail attachments. If you have lots of photos or
particularly high resolution shots then break them apart into multiple
e-mails, say 1MB. per message. The new format will allow for larger full
size images and I'll slowly convert the archives over to any HI RES
originals I might still have.
We are looking for all types of material: Travel photos,
stories and more (send your classic stuff too!) With the format change it
becomes easier to catalog your photos from other areas outside Texas
including your travel photos and stories.
E-mail your submissions
if already in a digital format. If you have prints you would like to have
scanned we will scan the photos and return them to you promptly. All
photos will be scanned and digitally tuned for best display. We will
return the material plus a copy of your photos on CD at no charge! Please
include the following so that we get the proper credits on the photos.
1. Location (as specific as you care to make it)
2. Name of the surfer/subject
3. Name of the photographer
4. Approximate date
5. Your return address information
Banner Ads on ThirdCoastSurf
Advertising is available in several locations on this popular site.
There are 2 primary spots available for rotating ads on the site. The
premier banner which will appear on selected areas throughout the site
(Home, Forecasting, Travel, Buoys and Portfolios for example.) A smaller
secondary type banner is available on the menu bar of any or all of the
pages noted above.
About the Third Coast Surf Site:
This site has been one of the longest running and most frequently updated
sites devoted to surfing on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The content is
unmatched for quality, depth of information and is frequented by visitors
from all over the world. Daily unique visitors number in the
thousands, March 2002 logs reveal 5000+ daily with seasonal variations.
The vast majority of the emails we receive are from visitors traveling to
our beaches and coastal areas from inland Texas cities or from cities
around the U.S. Others use this informative site to plan trips and gather
information for traveling to more exotic surf destinations. More recently
the addition of daily surfing news has been added as a popular attraction
to the site.
Advertising Costs:
The cost of a traditional top of page banner in rotation is $30.00
per month. (prepaid in 3 month blocks) The cost for the smaller sidebar
banner is $15.00 per month. (prepaid in 3 month blocks) Ad banners
may be rotated/changed for a nominal service fee per rotation. If
you need banner ad creation we can offer this service at very reasonable
rates.

As you know, ThirdCoastSurf is all about sharing and contributing
information. Without that spirit of sharing this place would be nothing.
Unfortunately, while the site is free to use, it isn't free to produce.
The costs of hosting servers, site maintenance and site development are
real expenses (over 5 years worth!). Any financial contribution you
make goes a long way toward keeping these costs down and ensuring that
this site endures.
