Powerlite Blanks became a part of Powerlite Surf Company in August 1999. After surfing a local builder's epoxy longboard one summer  day, owner Craig Chafin began researching this alternate board building technology. Some perseverance and a commitment to producing a quality composite product put his company on the map with many of the top local builders.  
 With technical assistance and information from Steve Forrestal,  Bob Martin, Greg Loehr, Mike Doyle and ThirdCoast, Powerlite Blanks quickly began producing quality custom blanks.  In short order Powerlite became the Texas distributor for Resin Research products and the largest blank producer in Texas. 
Continued research and development and a sincere desire to help anyone who wants to carry on the craft has created a solid base of loyal customers including both large and small builders. The addition of a complete line of board building materials in the past several years, including resin,  cloth, fin systems, abrasives, etc., has furthered the recognition this company receives as a one stop builder's shop. We proudly feature products by Resin Research, 3M, Norton Abrasives, Hexcel,  Fins Unlimited, LokBox, Rainbow Fins, True Ames and others.
 Powerlite Surf Company has introduced it's own surfboard label, exclusively  featuring the skills and talents of local shapers and laminators using epoxy composite technology.  Texas continues to help lead the way in epoxy board construction and is very excited about the future of the surfboard industry.
